Modeled after the operator workflow of the Simplex 4100ES (Operator’s Manual 579-197 Rev L). Not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by Johnson Controls. Training only — on a real panel follow the manufacturer's manual, the site procedure and the AHJ.

The panel is quiet right now — ACKNOWLEDGE and ALARM SILENCE won't do anything until there's something to respond to. Open FIELD and put a device into alarm first.

For orientation while you learn the addresses — not part of the real panel. On an actual job there is no map: a technician locates a device from its address and building knowledge, which is the whole skill this lab is teaching. Layout is schematic, not a real building.

The 2×40 display

Two lines of forty characters — much less room than Sim-80’s 4×20. A new, unacknowledged condition shows a category banner ("**FIRE** Press <ACK> to review.") plus a live event-count tally (FIRE = n PRI2=n SUPV=n TRBL=n) on line 2. Acknowledging swaps to a location line (line 1) and a device-and-condition line (line 2) — one event at a time.
