The Future Is On — building what's next to light, power, and connect everyday spaces
“Building what's next to light, power, and connect everyday spaces — relentless innovation for more than a century, enabling our customers' lives to be easier, safer, more efficient, productive, and sustainable.”
About
Leviton is one of the largest manufacturers of electrical wiring devices, lighting, energy management, and network infrastructure in North America — a family-owned American company with more than a century of innovation and a global manufacturing footprint. For the life-safety and healthcare community, the catalog that matters most is Leviton's healthcare line: listed hospital-grade and isolated-ground receptacles, isolated power systems for operating rooms, GFCI devices, and the Smart Load Center with observation-window door and circuit-level monitoring via the My Leviton app — products that map directly onto NFPA 99 Chapter 6 and NEC Article 517. Leviton also runs “Captain Code,” a free code-education resource on NFPA 99 and NEC receptacle and isolated-power questions. We feature Leviton here after attending their NFPA 99 healthcare electrical class in Nashville — a manufacturer that invests in teaching the standard, not just selling against it.
An 1892 building. The future of electrical education.
In early 2025, Leviton opened its third Leviton LIVE customer experience center inside a restored 1892 industrial building on Nashville's 2nd Avenue — exposed brick, timber beams, and music-inspired design wrapped around live demonstrations of power, lighting, energy management, and network infrastructure. The Nashville location is Leviton's largest LIVE center (Chicago · Orlando · Nashville) and includes a 40-seat reconfigurable classroom that hosts CE events, training sessions, and code-education classes — including the NFPA 99 healthcare electrical session our team attended in 2026. The center reflects Leviton's strategic commitment to healthcare and data center as key growth markets.

Why we work with them
Leviton hosted a full NFPA 99 healthcare electrical class for our Safety & Compliance team — including the parts where the right answer is “it depends on your risk assessment,” not “buy this part.” That kind of education builds trust a product demo never can.
The LDC-W series load centers have a clear observation door — you see the status of every breaker at a glance without opening the panel. Smart Breakers add circuit-level energy data, voltage monitoring, trip alerts with fault-type detail, and Smart Anomaly Detection via the My Leviton app. In a Category 1 essential electrical space, that logging capability has real survey value.
Hospital-grade and isolated-ground receptacles, isolated power systems for ORs, and GFCI devices are the exact hardware NFPA 99 §6.3.2 and NEC Article 517 govern. The catalog was engineered for the code, by people who sit on the committees.
Leviton publishes plain-language code guidance on receptacle counts, hospital-grade requirements, and isolated power at captaincode.leviton.com — a genuinely useful free resource for facility teams, designers, and compliance staff.
