Good to know

Listen instead of read

Press play on a lesson’s narration and the slides advance with it. Switch narrator voice any time; it carries on from the same spot.

Mark it done, or not

A lesson is marked complete when you press Mark lesson complete or the narration plays to the end. You can unmark a lesson to study it again.

Supervisor briefing

Your supervisor has to confirm 11 performance measures for NICET. Download the briefing from the course page and hand it to them first.

It’s free

The course, the practice exam and the certificate cost nothing. NICET’s own exam fee is $235.

Questions

Is this the official NICET course?

No. It is an independent, free course that follows NICET’s published ITWBS Level I content outline. LifeSafetyWiki is not affiliated with NICET.

Which NICET exam does it prepare for?

Inspection & Testing of Water-Based Systems (ITWBS) Level I — not Water-Based Systems Layout, which is a different exam for designers.

Does the certificate count as CEUs?

No. It records course completion. NICET counts one CPD point per hour of training when no CEUs are issued and does not pre-approve providers, so keep the certificate with your CPD records and check with NICET.

What does an employer see when they scan the QR?

Your name as printed on the certificate, the completion date, what the course covers, how long it is, and your practice-exam results for this credential. No contact details, job title or other personal information.

Stuck on a question? Ask Clara. Every quick check and practice question has a “Let Clara explain this” button, and Clara can point you to the NFPA 25 section.
