Employer’s part
Your supervisor finishes the job by walking you through the fire doors in your own area: their ratings, which ones are held open and how they release, the special doors in the building, and who to call about a damaged or propped door.
Repeat it
Take it again whenever you need a reminder. The Yellow belt builds directly on it.

When you finish, you'll be able to

  • Explain what makes a fire door an assembly, and why every part matters
  • Read a fire protection rating and know what a door or frame label proves
  • Name the parts of a swinging fire door: frame, hinges, closer, latch and strike, glazing, gasketing, plates, threshold
  • Name the extra parts on a pair of doors: astragal, coordinator, flush bolts
  • Tell a self-closing door from an automatic-closing one, and which hold-opens are allowed
  • Recognize the kinds of fire doors: swinging, sliding, rolling steel, folding, service counter and access doors
How this course works · 1-minute read
Lessons are slides
Use Back / Next or the ← → arrow keys. The gold bar above each slide jumps to any slide, and marks the Quick Checks before you reach them.
Quick Checks
27 short questions sit inside the lessons. Pick an answer and the right one and the explanation appear straight away. They are practice — nothing is recorded.
Every answer has a source
Citation cards name the regulation or standard behind a slide; OSHA and EPA citations open the official text. Nothing comes into this exam room, so the course flags what to memorize.
Your place is saved
Sign in and the course remembers the slide you stopped on. A lesson is marked done when you press Mark lesson complete on its last slide — you can unmark it to study it again.
Then the final and your employer
A 12-question final assessment (70% to pass) unlocks the certificate with your contact hours. Then print the practical checkoff: your employer’s competent person covers your site and checks you hands-on.
