IBFCSM CHSP (Certified Healthcare Safety Professional) — The Course
The three CHSP domains for hospital safety professionals: leading safety, controlling hazards, and knowing who requires what

Where the official exam weight actually sits
Domain weights per IBFCSM’s CHSP blueprint. IBFCSM’s page gives the item count as both 125 to 160 and 100 to 150, and no time limit.
When you finish, you'll be able to
- Know how the CHSP works, and what IBFCSM does and does not publish
- Run a safety management system: plans, committees, measures and leadership
- Find causes and build high reliability habits
- Assess and control hospital hazards, exposures and fire risks
- Apply NFPA 101 and 99 (2012) and the emergency management rules
- Say which agency, CFR title, accreditor or standard body covers a given problem

Continuing education
Finish every lesson and you can print a completion certificate with the date, the course version and your measured contact hours — the time you were active in the course, rounded down to the half hour. IBFCSM recertification asks for 50 clock hours plus 5,000 practice hours, or passing the current exam. Ask IBFCSM whether it accepts this certificate. LifeSafetyWiki is not an IBFCSM-endorsed provider.
CHSP — Certified Healthcare Safety Professional
The CHSP is IBFCSM’s closed-book credential for hospital safety work, on three domains: Management & Leadership 36%, Hazard Control Practice 28%, and Compliance, Accreditation & Voluntary Standards 36%. It leans on scenarios and on knowing which agency or standard covers what. Exam content is under NDA, so nobody can honestly sell you recalled questions.
